Mr.
Mo
The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog is the largest of the
four Swiss Sennenhund breeds. My cousins are the Bernese Mountain*
Dog, Appenzeller and Entlebucher*. I am a typical family pet; however, way
back when, my ancestors assisted farmers and herdsmen with daily chores, such as pulling
carts and keeping a watchful eye over livestock. Even though I am primarily a family dog,
the working dog aptitude remains strong in me and my kind. As a family pet, you humans
like me for my gentle nature, great loyalty, and wonderful disposition toward kids.
When full grown, I am large, have a muscular stature and beautiful tri-colored markings. I am a small guy and will only max out at about 100 pounds; however, most males get to be 25.5 to 28.5 inches tall and weigh anywhere from 105 to 140 lbs. While our beautiful mates (females) get to be 23.5 to 27 inches, with weight ranging from 85 to 110 lbs. For more information go to The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of America*. This is probably one of the best resources on the web. I hope you enjoy my site! --Mr. Mo
